What is "A Better Home"?

Deadline Extended: October 20, 2024

Our first annual online art competition centers around the theme,
"What is a better home?"

We're dedicated to celebrating and empowering student artists from Kindergarten to 12th grade nationwide! Your artwork could be featured on our website for a year, inspiring others with your creativity.

Theme

We invite you to create a piece inspired by our story, "A Better Home", that portrays a better home for all, extending beyond the final pages of our book. We specifically request that your piece reflects themes of environmental and wildlife conservation, advocating for a sustainable and harmonious relationship with nature.

To Apply

Entries must be submitted digitally no later than 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, October 20, 2024 to our online portal here. Each submission must be filled out completely including a picture of the student’s artwork. Please ensure your image accurately represents your artwork by avoiding blurriness. It is important to take the picture under good lighting conditions and preferably in high resolution.

We will only accept one entry per student.

Every submission must be original in its concept, design, and execution.

Participation Terms / Rules

Copyright/Plagiarism

All entries to the competition must be original, reflecting only your own ideas. By submitting your work, you confirm its sole authorship and agree not to have used generative AI tools or AI-generated content. Any infringement of intellectual property rights will result in immediate disqualification.

Judging Process

Judging will be based on originality, artistic ability, and the overall message of the piece. Our panel of judges consists of industry experts across various art fields.

Who Can Participate?

Students from Kindergarten through 12th grade living in the United States or Canada are eligible to participate.

Accepted Art Mediums

Entries must be created using traditional mediums, such as pencil, charcoal, colored pencils, collage, oil painting, acrylic painting, or watercolor painting. Please note that digitally created paintings or drawings, AI-generated artwork, or any AI-assisted creations will not be considered.

Art Entry Size

Entries must be at least 9" x 12" in size, with no maximum limit.

The entry form requests information for an art teacher, but I created the artwork independently.

Even if you didn't collaborate with an art teacher on your artwork, we highly recommend seeking out one in your school or community to review your work and provide feedback. Their expertise can offer valuable feedback to enhance your work. Please provide the information for the teacher who reviewed your artwork and offered feedback before submission.
